Earlier this week, members of our Department of State met with an Islamic delegation which included leaders of the Muslim brotherhood – that\’s right, the Muslim brotherhood: a terrorist group which would like nothing more than to vaporize Israel and depose Egypt\’s current President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who has shown the remarkable courage to speak out against radical Islam.
What would the Obama administration have to discuss with a terrorist group of this kind? We don\’t know. The administration is not saying, and our wonderful “neutral” media, for the most part, is not asking.
But we do know what the Muslim brotherhood came away with….courtesy of its own statement.
Excerpted from Adam Kredo\’s article for the Washington Free Beacon:
TheMuslim Brotherhood called for “a long, uncompromising jihad” inEgypt just days after a delegation of the Islamist group\’s keyleaders and allies met with the State Department, according to anofficial statement released this week.
Justdays after a delegation that included two top Brotherhood leaders washostedat the State Department, the organization released an officialstatement calling on its supporters to “prepare” for jihad, according to an independent translation of the statementfirst posted on Tuesday.
TheBrotherhood\’s renewed call for jihad comes at a time when currentEgyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is cracking down on the groupand imprisoning many of its supporters, who notoriously engaged inviolence following the ouster of Brotherhood-ally Mohamed Morsi.
Egyptexperts said the timing of this declaration is an embarrassment forthe State Department.
“Thefact that the Brotherhood issued its call to jihad two days after itsmeeting at the State Department will be grist for endlessanti-American conspiracy theories about a supposed partnershipbetween Washington and the Brotherhood,” said Eric Trager, a fellowat the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP). “TheState Department should have foreseen what an embarrassment thiswould be.”
I wonder if Mr. Trager has considered the possibility that the Obama/Kerry State Department did foresee what the result of this meeting would be, and was on board with it anyway. I know I have.
But does it surprise me? Not at all…and it shouldn\’t surprise you either. Because it is just the latest foreign policy disaster in a 6 year virtually unbroken string of them.
Can you name any countries where our situation has improved? Unless you\’re thrilled by Obama\’s opening of relations with the communist, mass-murdering dictators in Cuba, I doubt that you can.
Now: can you name any countries where our situation has deteriorated? Start writing…and pace yourself, because with that many countries on the list it is going to take some time.
Two more years of this nightmare of an administration….complete with an Accomplice Media running interference for it at every turn.
And then, if we are very lucky, a competent President; one who will, if it is even possible at this point, start bringing us back from where the inept, incompetent ego-driven Barack Obama has left us.
Keep your fingers crossed. Tightly.
