PRESIDENT OBAMA\’S MESSAGE TO BALTIMORE

From David Jackson\’s article in USA Today:

“The President highlighted the Administration\’s commitment to provide assistance as needed and will continue to receive updates on the situation from Attorney General Lynch and White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett,” the White House said in a statement.

The Justice Department is also investigating the death of Freddie Gray, who was killed while in Baltimore police custody. Gray\’s funeral preceded Monday\’s violence.

Hogan, who activated the National Guard, said Obama urged him to have law enforcement officials exercise restraint, and the governor said he would.

“But,” he added, “I assured him we weren\’t going to stand by and allow our city of Baltimore to be taken over by thugs.”

There you go.  President Obama\’s message to Baltimore is that restraint should be exercised.  But he wasn\’t talking to the street thugs who are busy rioting, looting and burning the city down, he was talking to law enforcement.

In other words, this is President Obama\’s version of giving those who wish to destroy space to do that – the brilliant strategy of Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

Yep, that\’s working out just perfectly.

And Governor Larry Hogan\’s response?  Again, excerpted from the USA Today article:

Hogan, who activated the National Guard, said Obama urged him to have law enforcement officials exercise restraint, and the governor said he would.

“But,” he added, “I assured him we weren\’t going to stand by and allow our city of Baltimore to be taken over by thugs.”

Exactly right.  The only adult in the room.

There are still almost 21 more months left to the horror show that is the Obama administration.  I count the seconds.
