OREGON\’S OBAMACARE WEB SITE

In the previous blog I talked about the impossibly ridiculous cost of ObamaCare web sites – not just the national site (as much as $634 million for a disaster on steroids which – despite the lies of its PR flaks in the media, is still nowhere near fixed), but the sites for state exchanges as well.  I noted that Maryland\’s web site cost $261 million dollars – all but...

THE NEW REPUBLIC\’S VIEW OF CHRIS CHRISTIE

The New Republic\’s latest edition has a hit piece on Chris Christie.  But, I suspect far fewer people will read the piece itself than will look at, and react to, its accompanying photoshopped picture: Get it? That\’s Tony Soprano, played by the late James Gandolfini, with Chris Christie\’s head photoshopped where James Gandolfini\’s used to be –...

MORE SNOW

Until a couple of hours ago, it had been another dismal, raw day in Central New Jersey – one in which a wet snow had not stuck to road surfaces because the temperature was slightly over 32 degrees. Then the temperature dropped. We now have about two inches more of new accumulation and the snow is falling at a moderate to heavy pace.  Who knows how much more there will be. I...

WHICH WENDY?

Ken Berwitz Speaking of the ban on abortions after the 20th week – the ban that Wendy Davis unsuccessfully filibustered in the Texas state senate…. ….we have this quote, from a Texas State Senator: “I would have and could have voted to allow that togo through, if I felt like we had tightly defined the ability for a woman and adoctor to be making this decision together...

AND YOU CAN KEEP YOUR CURRENT INSURANCE TOO….

Is this some kind of a contest to see how many ways the public can be lied to about ObamaCare? Here is the latest, via the first two paragraphs of Joel B. Pollak’s article at breitbart.com: In 2009, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) apologized profusely to the White House for shouting, “You lie!” as President Barack Obama told Congress that Obamacare would not cover illegal immigrants. Now...

SENATOR ROBERT MENENDEZ: TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

It is taking longer than I thought.  But the clock on Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) is ticking.  And, it seems more and more evident, it is only a matter of time. First it was Menendez\’s cozy relationship with salomon melgen, a Florida eye doctor – one who is under investigation for the millions upon millions of dollars he made in, let\’s say, interesting...

HOW BAD WAS THE DE BLASIO INAUGURATION?

How bad was Bill de Blasio’s inauguration? So bad that even the New York Times, which avidly supported Mr. de Blasio, couldn’t let it go by without commenting. Excerpted from yesterday’s editorial: Mr. de Blasio’s words carried an indictment: the city had become unjust and unlivable for too many of the poor and working class. But he tempered this complaint, as he should...

LOW VOLT-AGE

Here’s something that most Chevrolet Volt owners know (which means virtually no one does), excerpted from Mark Modica’s article at the National Legal and Policy Center’s web site (nlpc.org): A recent study by fleetcarma.com unveils yet another drawback of General Motors’ much-hyped Chevy Volt. It appears that the environmentally-conscientious, affluent owners of the...

DAVID LIMBAUGH’S COLUMN ON RACISM

Syndicated columnist David Limbaugh (yes, he is Rush Limbaugh’s brother) has written an absolutely excellent column on racism – specifically the feeling of so many on the left that they have free rein to engage in racism, since they’re “the good guys”. Here is a small excerpt, which references the disgusting comments made by Melissa Harris-Perry and her...

EZRA KLEIN’S DEPARTURE FROM THE WASHINGTON POST

Is Ezra Klein, the left-wing boy wonder of the Washington Post, leaving? Is it because he is having a hissy-fit over new owner Jeff Bezos’s decision not to fund an internet domain for him to expound his wholly leftward views more exclusively than down with the peasants at his newspaper? Excerpted from Warner Todd Huston’s article at breitbart.com: As new owner Jeff Bezos begins his...

OBAMACARNAGE: THE WAR ON BABIES

Apparently it is not enough that ObamaCare forces every policyholder to pay for contraception services.  If you don’t use those services, it also makes it difficult to add a newborn child to their coverage. Can this possibly be?  Well, read the following excerpt from Ricardo Alonzo-Zalvidar’s article for the Associated Press, and you tell me: There’s another quirk in the...

OBAMACARNAGE: THE REALIZATION TOUR STARTS

ObamCare has commenced….with a swift kick in the labonza to the middle class. Excerpted from Jacqueline Leo’s article for the Fiscal Times: ObamaCare has delivered another sucker punch to the middle class. This time it’s sticker shock. Now that most people can get past the tech problems of HealthCare.gov and actually see the real cost of insurance plans available, they are...

BOB GRANT R. I. P.

Bob Grant, one of the true pioneers of talk radio, has passed away at the age of 84.  Though he had been ill for some time, initial reports do not mention the specific cause of death. Grant started in radio during the late 1940’s.  He became a full time talk show host in 1964, when he replaced the controversial, take-no-prisoners right winger, Joe Pine, at KABC in Los Angeles.  Grant...
