Israel is building a new town in the Golan Heights.
It will be called Trump Heights (Ramat Trump), as the plaque shown below indicates:
That’s quite a compliment for a “nazi sympathizer” like Donald Trump.
Maybe it has something to do with Trump recognizing the Golan Heights, which Israel won 52 years ago in a war it neither started nor wanted, is now Israeli territory.
Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that Trump, who grew up with and worked with Jews his entire life – including his presidency – and has been an avid supporter of Israel for decades, is deserving of recognition from the Jewish state.
Gee, I guess, as nazi sympathizers go, he’s a pretty good one for Israel to have around.
And I also guess this is another proof that the hate-Trump media’s grotesque, out-of-context distortion of Trump’s “very fine people comment in Charlottesville, Virginia doesn’t in any way reflect what he actually said or meant – even though those media have fooled a great many -people into thinking it is.
But not the people of Israel. See, they do not have the luxury of living in a world of media-created fiction. Their circumstances – surrounded by enemies intent on vaporizing the country and killing its Jews – force them to live in a world of reality.
And their reality is that Trump is the President who moved our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and now has declared the Golan Heights sovereign Israeli territory.
For those and other reasons, most Israelis do not see Mr. Trump as a nazi-sympathizer.
Y’know, I think they may be on to something.
