Two years ago the New York Times published an op-ed piece written by “anonymous”, titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration”. Its first sentence was:
I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.
And, falling right into line, the rest of our media could not get enough of “anonymous”, who followed the op-ed up with a best-selling book.
Hey, why not. This is a senior official, right? Might be Kellyanne Conway, or even Jared Kushner or one of Trump’s sons. Senior is senior.
Now, two years later we learn that “anonymous” was a nobody, named Miles Taylor who, when he wrote the op-ed (assuming he actually wrote it) was not a senior official or anything close. He was a 30 year old deputy chief of staff in the Department of Homeland Security. It is probable that Donald Trump never even met him, let alone met with him.
But instead of our media being embarrassed by the massive media coverage this nobody got when the Times op-ed was published, now that Miles Taylor has identified himself, Curtis Houck of newsbusters.org points out:
CNN and MSNBC were head over heels for Taylor, giving him 94 minutes and 28 seconds over the 24 hours since his unveiling. But when it came to Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson’s bombshell Tuesday interview with former Biden family business associate Tony Bobulinski, they have yet to even acknowledge it.
CNN led the way, devoting 50 minutes and 11 seconds across eight shows to one of their own despite the fact that he had lied on-air to them that he wasn’t “Anonymous.”
That included a lengthy interview on Wednesday’s Cuomo Prime Time in which Taylor compared himself to Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison writing the Federalist Papers as Publius, and insisted he didn’t speak out for money.
Want to contrast that with the media non-coverage given to Tony Bobulinski?
Bobulinksi was not a deputy nobody. He was a successful businessperson directly, face-to-face involved with the Biden family’s dealings – the ones where son, Hunter, brother, James, and who knows how many other Bidens, got rich off of Joe’s political power.
Bobulinski was not lying about his importance to the story, he was a deep insider.
And yet, as of this morning, neither ABC nor CBS nor NBC has reported so much of one word of his first-hand detailing of the Biden family’s odoriferous activities.
There’s your comparison. How do you like it?
