Poor joy behar.
Every morning, on ABC’s “The View”, she – along with Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg – rants out her hardline left-wing opinions, to the enthusiastic cheers of a studio audience which loves them (why else would they come to this show?).
But, yesterday, Megan McCain, John McCain’s daughter, who endures being the one alternative to The View’s hard-left lean, challenged Behar when she decided to turn a memorial segment to President George H. W. Bush into an attack on Donald Trump.
Behar had an immediate, furious reaction to this, prompting host Goldberg to quickly go to a break.
But that’s not where it ended. It turns out that Behar screamed out insults at McCain and threatened to quit the show because – omigod – McCain challenged one of her rants.
You can see the video, and read a very good account of this, at Kathryn Blackhurst’s article for lifezette.com.
But, for the moment, here is what Behar is reaported as having screamed during the break:
“Get this bitch under control.
“If this shit doesn’t stop I’m quitting this damn show. I can’t take this much more.
“I’ve tolerated a lot of shit on this show but I’m at my wit’s end with this entitled bitch. Enough already! Enough already! I’m not playing nice any longer.”
Ooohhhhhh. joy behar, as obnoxious a loudmouth as you can find on TV (which is quite an accomplishment) is miffed that someone actually communicated disagreement with something she said, and has threatened to quit. It’s the end of the world, I tell you.
OK, enough sarcasm. Now some common sense.
If any man had called any woman on this or any other show an “entitled bitch”, it is a virtual certainty that it would have been his last appearance on that show. He would be tossed out like so much garbage.
And my guess is that the same would have been true if it had been Megan McCain calling behar that name.
But behar doing so? Well, she’s a left-wing woman on a left-wing show, you see, so she can call another woman a bitch, then supplement it with a profanity-laced tirade, and it’s okey-dokey.
I hope for joy behar’s sake that she stays in that cocoon called “The View” and avoids venues where more than her side of the political coin is revered. Based on this episode, I’m not sure she could take the strain of a serious discussion with differing opinions.
