“He was like a chicken with his head chopped off. The chicken is dead. The only person that don’t know it is the chicken.”
Those words were uttered by the always-quotable James Carville. They described former Republican Senator and Presidential aspirant Rick Santorum, after George Romney, the eventual candidate, swept him in three primaries during the 2012 primary season.
Put that quote in the plural, and you get the current level of public interest in Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Did you know there was a limited run show about them on Broadway? A show starring two high profile actors; John Lithgow and Laurie Metcalf that was only going to run until July 21?
Well, if you want to see it, better get your tickets quick. Because, according to Katherine Schaffstall’s article at hollywoodreporter.com, it is closing a month early (Sunday, June 23 to be exact) because the audience is filling only about one-third (36%) of the theater.
This comes on the heels of the vastly under-attended “An Evening With The Clintons” tour, which played to minuscule audiences in the USA and Canada…
…and Hillary Clinton’s chronic inability to draw crowds at public appearances over the post-2016 years.
The Clintons are over. As in they’re toast/put a fork in ’em/that ship has sailed over.
The only ones who don’t seem to know it are the Clintons.
James Carville was a – actually the – key adviser to Bill Clinton during his successful 1992 presidential run. I assume he is still in touch and they still respect his advice.
Maybe he can do Bill and Hill a very much needed kindness and talk chickens with them.
