During the past several weeks we have picked up bits and pieces about the so-called “whistleblower” who, presumably, started the hullabaloo over President Trump’s conversation with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. But not much of substance.
Now, however, while his/her identity is still well hidden from the general public, we’re finding out more. And what we’re finding out suggests that this may not have been a sincere “whistle-blowing” effort but that the initial whistleblower (now there are supposed to be two) was a deep-state plant.
From Tristan Justice’s article at thefederalist.com, we have this:
One of the attorneys that assisted the anonymous “whistleblowers” accusing President Donald Trump of conspiring with foreign leaders to interfere in the next U.S. presidential election used to report directly to former director of national intelligence James Clapper.
Charles McCullough, an attorney who assisted Andrew Bakaj, a former staffer for Sens. Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton, at the beginning of the process was previously the inspector general of the intelligence community (ICIG) at the height of the Clinton email scandal.
