IS SEAN HANNITY RIGHT ABOUT TEXT MESSAGE RECOVERY?

Despite writing a political blog, I am not glued to the TV for cable news shows.  I watch segments, flip around to other programming, it’s not live-or-die with me.

But in the past months, Sean Hannity has become, far and away, the go-to show for news on major scandals media have refused to cover…which, not at all surprisingly given what passes for today’s media, are major scandals that take down Democrats, not Republicans.

Here from an article at foxnews.com, is what Hannity reported yesterday:

Fox News’ Sean Hannity said Wednesday night on “Hannity” that the Justice Department has started recovering some of the missing texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, citing DOJ sources.

Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017. This meant that 5 months’ worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from that time period. Specific content from those texts has not been released.

Is this true?  Is the Department of Justice (DOJ) actually recovering text messages from these two FBI operatives, who appear to have combined their hatred of Trump with a profound ignorance of the fact that it should never, ever have been put in text messaging?

If so, can the DOJ personnel involved be trusted to uncover the texts and pass them along accurately?  The apparent depth of corruption in the DOJ and FBI, sad to say, makes this a serious concern.

And what happens if they are uncovered, and show that there was a government conspiracy among “deep state” operatives at DOJ and FBI to undermine/replace the elected government of the United States?  What do we do then?

Will media, which have operated as a front line for the people who would be involved in such a conspiracy, even report it?  How will they explain why they buried the body of evidence about this as it grew to mountainous proportions over the past year?  How would it be possible for them to regain the public’s trust again?  WHY would the public trust them again?

Sean Hannity and I disagree on a good many issues.  he is a conservative through and through.  I am not even close.

But I have to say, he has been a voice in the wilderness on these scandals.  He has persisted even when his MSNBC and CNN counterparts were ignoring, or sneeringly dismissing, the progression of facts about Uranium One, the Awan scandal and, most importantly, the possibility – now almost certainty – that the Mueller investigation Star Chamber was created on nothing other than anti-Trump fiction.

He won’t get a sniff at it, I’m sure; he is hitting the wrong side of the political aisle.  But, for his work on these scandals, Sean Hannity – along with the invaluable John Solomon and Sara Carter, both of whom are doing the same in their articles for thehill.com – should be finalists for the Pulitzer Prize.
