Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (D-FL) is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, which will handle the next phase of Democrats “impeachment inquiry” farce.

But there may be a problem – or, at any rate, it would be a problem if she were a Republican.

According to an article in the Miami Herald from July 16, 2018, which is now being referenced in  Ryan Saavedra’s article at, Ms. Mucarsel-Powell’s husband was beholden to the Ukrainian oligarch crowd for something like $700,000 (and who knows how much more since then).

A key excerpt:

Public records show that Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s husband, Robert Powell, spent much of the last 10 years as general counsel for companies owned at least in part by Igor Kolomoisky, a wealthy Ukrainian businessman involved in banking and mining. In federal financial disclosures, Mucarsel-Powell reported that her husband of 15 years earned most of their household income during the previous two years — at least $695,000 — from a ferroalloys trading corporation associated with Kolomoisky.

At the time, Ms. Mucarsel-Powell said her husband’s deep stake in the Ukraine oligarchy was “irrelevant” to her run for congress.  The voters apparently agreed.

But it is irrelevant if, while in congress, she is asked to be a part of an impeachment hearing directly related to the Ukraine?

More specifically, will her husband’s involvement affect her Judiciary Committee decisions about the Bidens, since the same kind of people who were paying off Hunter Biden for a do-nothing no-show job while his daddy was Vice President were filling her husband’s pockets with almost $700,000 dollars over a 10 year period (and, for all we know, still are)?

Is this a valid reason for Rep. Mucarsel-Powell to recuse herself from these hearings?  Is it a valid reason for Republicans to demand that she do so?

Your call.
