….watch this 1987 video of Biden telling a reporter about his academic background…
…and then consider that, according to politifact.com (which, though it claims neutrality, leans heavily in favor of Democrats)…
Biden graduated from Syracuse University’s law school in 1968, but not in the top half of his class. He also did not receive three undergraduate degrees. And, according to a September 1987 Newsweek report, Biden didn’t attend law school on a full academic scholarship, either.
In a statement published in response to the Newsweek story, and covered by the New York Times, Biden said his “recollection of this was inaccurate.”
Yeah, “inaccurate”. That’s what it was. Biden wasn’t spouting a bunch of overt lies, he was just, er, “inaccurate”.
When my maternal grandmother was exasperated, she would shake her head and say “guttenyu” (Yiddish for “dear God”). I find my self thinking that word over and over again these days, as I listen to Joe Biden not knowing what he is talking about. And now there’s this video of him lying to our faces 33 years ago.*
I wonder how many other videos like this are out there. How many we’ll see before election day…assuming he’s still the candidate by then.
*Point of order: This blog is about Joe Biden. But I can say the same for Donald Trump as well. His exaggerations, bloviations, and paper-thin ego, generates plenty of “guttenyu” reactions from me as well.
