Is Hillary Clinton in legal trouble – I don’t mean the kind that she laughs and wriggles out of, usually with the help of her complicit media, but real trouble they cannot help her with?
Read the beginning of Josh Gerstein’s article for politico.com – then use the link to read the rest – and decide for yourself:
Citing indications of wrongdoing and bad faith, a federal judge has overruled government objections by declaring that a conservative group is entitled to more details about how Hillary Clinton’s private email account was integrated into the State Department recordkeeping system and why it was not searched in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.
U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth entered an order Tuesday agreeing that Judicial Watch can pursue legal discovery — which often includes depositions of relevant individuals — as the group pursues legal claims that State did not respond completely to a FOIA request filed in May 2014 seeking records about talking points then-U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice used for TV appearances discussing the deadly attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi in September 2012.
Lamberth is the second federal judge handling a Clinton email-related case to agree to discovery, which is unusual in FOIA litigation. Last month, U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan gave Judicial Watch the go-ahead to pursue depositions of Clinton aides in a lawsuit for records about former Clinton Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin.
You might remember Royce Lamberth’s name. He is the Ronald Reagan-appointed judge who, in 1997, fined Ira Magaziner almost $300,000 for lying about the makeup of the 1993 health care initiative he worked with Hillary Clinton on, after she was put in charge of it by her then-President husband…and which was such a disaster that even Democrats would not vote for it. The fine was overturned two years later.
This might lead you to believe this is nothing more than a setup by a Clinton hater.
But if you do, it might be good to remember that the judge he on the same page with regarding disclosure, Emmet Sullivan, was appointed by Husband Bill. So it is hard not to see the expectation that she has to answer for her actions as anything but bipartisan.
And while we’re talking about what Hillary Clinton should be doing…where are the transcripts of her speeches to all those Wall Street firms she assures us she is going to put the wood to?
You can bet that if the texts of those speeches gave voters any reason to believe she will go after Wall Street, we’d have seen them all by now. (Just as you can bet that if this were, say, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz or John Kasich we were talking about, media would be moving heaven and earth to find and report about them).
It staggers the imagination that anyone believes a word from Hillary Clinton’s mouth.
