…we have this, pulled from Noah Higgins-Dunn’s article for

  • President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced the U.S. government will purchase 100 million doses of Moderna’s experimental coronavirus vaccine.
  • Moderna separately said the deal for its vaccine, mRNA-1273, is worth $1.53 billion and will give the federal government the option to purchase up to 400 million additional doses.
  • The U.S. government’s deal with Moderna follows similar agreements it’s made with pharmaceutical giants Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson and other drug makers for their potential Covid-19 vaccines.

In other words, President Trump is aggressively lining up the vaccines being tested by major pharmaceutical companies so that, if they turn out to be effective, they can most expeditiously be made available to U.S. citizens.

Does that look like Trump is doing nothing about COVID-19 to you?

And let’s not forget that this comes after Trump successfully brought us from a scarcity of ventilators to a surplus in just a couple of months (why was there a scarcity when he took office?  Whose fault was that?), convinced/coerced manufacturers like 3M to produce a huge number of face masks as quickly as possible, and provided temporary hospital facilities to states where the virus was hitting hardest.

You might also remember that at least three Democrat governors of major states that were among the hardest-hit by COVID-19 – Andrew Cuomo of New York, Phil Murphy of California and Gavin Newsom of California, have made a point of praising President Trump for his efforts.

Ok, now we can go back to the regularly scheduled broadcast of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer telling us that Trump is doing too little about COVID-19, that what little he’s doing is too late, and it’s all wrong anyway.

The saddest part?  There are actually people buying this BS…thus proving there is no shortage of ignorance, or of political partisanship that, er, “trumps” facts.

  • If the vaccine does not provide immunity then what? Put all your eggs in one basket, yeah right. In reality, Trump has done nothing for this pandemic. Testing is an absolute disaster including the NO contact tracing. We have NO national policy including the masking issues. It sure is fun to watch the disaster in Georgia schools! I do love it and all predictable..!

    • Judy – I’m very surprised you would say that.

First of all, he put money into a number of companies making vaccine. That’s a lot of baskets.

And wasn’t it Trump who instituted a travel ban two days after the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic? How many lives did that save?

And wasn’t it Trump who cajoled/coerced manufacturers into making ventilators in record time?

And how about the speed with which he got manufacturers to produce millions and millions of masks?

This, of course, is before we talk about the creation of temporary hospitals to accommodate COVID-19 sufferers.

Little wonder that even the Democrat Governors of New York, New Jersey and California came out praising and thanking him.

One other thing: where was the Democrat leadership throughout all this time? What were Nancy Pelosi’s and Chuck Schumer’s contributions – and Biden’s – other than back-biting and second guessing every action Trump took?

If Trump did nothing, would it be fair to say that Pelosi and Schumer did less than nothing?
