….that, by 58% to 30%, independents – you know, those nice folks who swing elections one way or the other – say they disapprove of the way Democrats handled the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.
If Democrats and their hard-left allies were to immediately move on from Kavanaugh, it might minimize the affect of this disapproval. But – incredibly – Democrats and their hard-left allies are continuing to go after Kavanaugh just as heavily.
Do they think this increases the prospects for a “blue wave” in November? Evidently, they do.
Remember; this is a CNN poll. Not Fox, not some Republican outfit, but CNN, which has about as much regard for Donald Trump and Republicans as yasir arafat had for Ariel Sharon.
I used to think that Democrats were the smarter of the two parties. But now, if it weren’t for the fact that mainstream media remains firmly entrenched in their pockets, Democrats would be somewhere between Nowhere and Yenemsvelt.
If I were a Republican I would root for them to continue harping on Brett Kavanaugh from today until election day. Heck, the only thing better would be if they resurrected the all-time “Biggest Loser”, Hillary Clinton and put her on TV…..oh, wait, she’s suddenly out there too.
Look, I’m not saying Democrats will have a complete disaster in November. In fact, I expect them to gain some number of seats in the house (though a lot less than they might think).
But a blue wave?
Unless something very big that we don’t know about happens between now and then to change things in their favor, don’t bet your Clinton/Kerry-2020 bumper sticker on it.
