What happened to Trey Gowdy?
On January 31 of this year, Gowdy, a Republican conservative, four -term member of the House of Representatives and Chairperson of the House Benghazi Committee, suddenly announced he was retiring from the House of Representatives at the end of his term.
Since then, he has done little but praise robert mueller and support mueller’s “investigation” of what was supposed to focus on collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, but has become an investigation into anything and everything that mueller can come up with against anyone who ever had anything to do with Donald Trump, regardless of whether it had anything to do with the 2016 election.
This even extended to Gowdy’s emphatic support for the Obama administration planting a spy in Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
What happened? Why the sudden out-of-nowhere u-turn?
I don’t know, and won’t pretend that I do. But, to me, the most likely answer – the high hard one down the middle of the plate – is that “they” (Democrats? The left? Someone else? Your guess is as good as mine) have something on him. Something significant enough for him to almost immediately change from a hard-nosed prosecutor to an obsequious yes-man for Democrats.
I wonder if we’ll ever find out if that’s what it is…and, if so, what the specifics are.
My guess is that, if they do, in fact, have something on Trey Gowdy it will come out. These things rarely stay hidden forever.
