Regarding the “shithole” comment…we now have a denial.  Sort of.

As you certainly are aware,  it is all over the media today that President Trump referred to Haiti, El Salvador, and parts of Africa as “shithole countries”.

But now we have this tweet from Mr. Trump:

Donald J. Trump
Donald J. Trump
The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made – a big setback for DACA!

So what is the truth?

Did mr. Trump say it?  Did he not say it? Did he say something like it, that effectively was the same thing?

At this point, it seems to me, the onus is on the other people who were in the room.

One or more of them should be stepping up to tell us what they heard.

Why have none of them done so?

UPDATE:  Dick Durbin (D-IL), one of the participants at the meeting, has now stated that not only did Mr. Trump use the term “shithole”, but he used it repeatedly.

I assume other people at the meeting will come forward as well. Let’s hear what they have to say.

Now Senator Jeff Flake (R-AR) says Trump uttered those words… but Senators Tom Cotton (R-AK) and David Perdue, (R-GA), both of whom were also at the meeting, say he did not.

OK, I officially give up.
