If the previous blog wasn’t enough for you, please read Matt Wilstein’s account, published by dailybeast.com (hardly a pro-Trump venue), of what Disney-owned ABC’s late night host, jimmy kimmel, had to say about President Trump’s relationship with his son, Barron, and Melania Trump, who she hosted an easter egg event for children at the White House, then read them a book:
. “It was a fun day for the president. He got to eat chocolate. He even met a nice kid named Barron who he really liked.”
The celebration is officially hosted by First Lady Melania Trump, who the president dutifully thanked in his opening remarks. “She worked so hard on this event,” he said.
“Not a chance she did one thing to help set that up,” Kimmel said. “She didn’t dye eggs. The only thing she’s been working on is an escape tunnel.”
“Of course, no White House Easter celebration would be complete without storytime from our first lady,” Kimmel added, playing a clip of Melania reading aloud from a children’s book. He laughed as he mocked her accent and said to his sidekick, “Guillermo, you know what this means? You could be first lady of the United States.”
Was kimmel canceled? Admonished in any way? No, and no.
I’ll say here what I said in the previous blog. Anyone who thinks there is no double standard at play here is either a hopeless ignoramus or a hopeless idiot.
One other thing: so far, I have zoned in exclusively on Disney-owned ABC’s supercedingly disgraceful hypocrisy in the way they handled Barr versus olbermann and kimmel. But there are plenty of other examples from other networks – stephen colbert and jimmy fallon immediately come to mind.
I’m not through blogging about this.
