Tom Steyer is the hard-left Democrat billionaire (I used to think “hard-left” and “billionaire” were a contradiction in terms, but I know better now), who has spent somewhere between $40 and $50 million dollars of his own money, so far, to achieve virtual anonymity as a potential presidential nominee.
The primary basis for Mr. Steyer’s run seems to be his Capatain Ahab-like obsession with impeaching President Donald Trump. And, to that end, he is now loudly advocating for the…”House to hold public impeachment hearings so the American people can see the full extent of Donald Trump’s crimes.”
From Steyer Press Secretary Benjamin Gerdes, we have this:
@TomSteyer calls on House to hold public impeachment hearings so the American people can see the full extent of Donald Trump’s crimes.
There it is. Something I can agree with Tom Steyer about.
For the past weeks, the so-called “impeachment inquiry” has been held with neither an impeachment vote, nor any public testimony. This is a pathetic farce that, were it done by Republicans, mainstream media would be screaming from the rooftops about a cover-up and demanding full transparency…instead of, in most cases, looking the other way on behalf of their Democrat masters.
Yes, let this be done in full public view. Give the public a chance to see what is really going on here. Then, if it turns out that President Trump has commited impeachable/convictable high crimes and misdemeanors the public will know about it, as the public should.
And if he has done no such things, same result: the public will know about it, as the public should.
But as long as our media put no pressure on schiff and Pelosi to pull back the curtains, that is not going to happen.
Ironic, isn’t it, that Tom Steyer, with nothing but ill will toward Donald Trump, is being stymied by the same media that Trump himself complains about every day.
