Dear Mister Trump:
If you don’t want media to nail you, don’t give them an opening so wide that a fleet of jumbo jets could go through.
Saying that American Jewish people who vote for Democrats show “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty” was a gift from heaven for your enemies. It not only enabled them to accuse you of dealing in stereotypes, but gave them the chance to call you an anti-Semite again.
Did you mean that Jews voting this way are voting against their interests, and the disloyalty they were showing was to themselves not to the country? Yeah, of course you did.
But that’s not the way your words sounded and that’s not the way your enemies would construe them.
When do you learn to shut that big, big, big mouth of yours? And when you learn that you should choose your words carefully rather than just blurting out the first thing that comes to mind?
When do you stop creating your own problems?
