A QUESTION FOR OUR IMPEACHMENT-HUNGRY MEDIA

I have a question for our media, most of which spent two years clearly expecting – often outwardly rooting for – President Trump to pay for his “collusion” with Russia.

What if this “hot microphone” conversation had been oveheard?

As he was leaning toward the Russian official, Trump was overheard asking for time — “particularly with missile defense” — until he is in a better position politically to resolve such issues.

“I understand your message about space,” replied the Russian official.

“This is my last election … After my election I have more flexibility,” Trump said, expressing confidence that he would win a second term.

“I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” said the official.

The exchange, parts of it inaudible, was monitored by a White House pool of television journalists as well as Russian reporters listening live from their press center.

How quickly would media have jumped all over it?  How gleeful would venues like the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC and the networks have been to provide this clear proof that Trump was in Putin’s pocket?  How material would this exchange have been to impeachment proceedings against Trump?

Well, the exchange you just read did take place.  But it was not in 2019, it was in 2012.  And the words you just read did not come from Donald Trump, they came from Barack Obama.

Here is the actual sequence, pulled verbatim from snopes.com, a leftward “fact check” site that loves to nail Donald Trump every chance it gets:

As he was leaning toward Medvedev in Seoul, Obama was overheard asking for time — “particularly with missile defense” — until he is in a better position politically to resolve such issues.

“I understand your message about space,” replied Medvedev, who will hand over the presidency to Putin in May.

“This is my last election … After my election I have more flexibility,” Obama said, expressing confidence that he would win a second term.

“I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” said Medvedev, Putin’s protégé and long considered number two in Moscow’s power structure.

The exchange, parts of it inaudible, was monitored by a White House pool of television journalists as well as Russian reporters listening live from their press center.

Do you recall any demands for impeachment when this happened? Do you recall jerrold nadler or adam schiff or Maxine Waters screaming for Barack Obama’s ouster?

I put this up for two reasons:  to show you how compromised our media are and how bogus this impeachment fiasco is.

I hope it has been useful.
